I’m Megan. I’m a self-proclaimed coffee junkie and aficionado of ”World’s Largest” things. When I’m not working as the Iowa editor for Silicon Prairie News—a new media company covering tech and entrepreneurship in the Midwest—I enjoy recreational organizing, spontaneous adventures and exploring forgotten nooks of used bookstores.
Bike rides, scratchy records and live jazz make me swoon, and I have my library card number memorized (26086…). I’m a bit of a typography nerd and all types of design and constantly find myself dog-earring pages and collecting images that inspire me.
I’m a Chicago transplant living and working in Iowa’s capital city. An alumna of Drake University in Des Moines, I graduated in 2013 with degrees in journalism and anthropology.
I’ve always loved writing so naturally I’m blogging along the way, as I figure out what it means to work for a startup and become a true Iowan. You can follow along with my adventures off the clock on my blog, Olio in Iowa.
